Study Edge is committed to protecting your privacy. This statement outlines our practices for gathering and disseminating information on the Study Edge website, applications, or services.  

Collection of Personal Information: 

Personal Information Collected From You

• Account and profile information: When you register for an account, you will be asked for your name, email address, and desired password to provide services. Optionally you can provide us with your best email address if different from your primary email address, phone number and group/affiliate code. You also have the option of uploading a photo to your profile. 
• Payment and billing information: When you make payments through the Services, you will need to provide certain financial account information. We also collect payment information if you make a purchase or sign up for a subscription. Please note that we use third-party payment processors to process payments made to us. As such, we do not retain any financial account information, such as credit card numbers or other financial information. Rather, all such information is provided directly by you to our third-party processor. The payment processor’s use of your personal information is governed by their privacy notice. 

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. We and our third-party providers may use cookies that our Sites and other online services use to store information about users on the users’ computers and other tracking technologies, including when you visited the website, the website you came from prior to visiting and the website you go when you leave our website, your computer’s operating system, location data and the web browser used during your visit. See the “Control Over Your Information” section below to learn more about how you may limit or disable cookies or certain other tracking technologies on your device.  

We use or may use the data collected through tracking technologies to secure the Services, improve the Services, to save you time, to provide better technical support, and to track usage of our Sites. For example, tracking technologies help us to: (a) remember information so that a user will not have to re-enter it during subsequent visits; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information; (c) identify you across multiple devices; (d) provide and monitor the effectiveness of our Services; (e) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and usage on our Services; (f) diagnose or fix technology problems; (g) help users efficiently access information after signing in; and (h) otherwise plan for and enhance our Services. 

Our Use of Personal Information  

• To fulfill your requests and provide our Products and Services to you. This includes: 

• • Making our Services, including providing our products and features. 
  • Coordinating access to your account; 
  • Responding to requests, suggestions, questions, and comments, and providing other types of user support, which may include accessing audio, video, files, and messages. 
  • Sending you service/transaction-related messages, such as changes to your account; Process billing, identification and authentication to access services. 

• To help us identify fraudulent credit card use.  
• To communicate with you. For example, we may communicate with you about your account activities, such as by providing you with transaction confirmations or alerting you when a subscription is up for renewal. If you register with us, we may enroll you in our email newsletters or other periodic electronic communications and may also send you user surveys and promotional communications. You can opt-out of marketing communications at any time. We may communicate with you by email, postal mail, telephone, text message, or other means. • To monitor, improve, and develop our products and services. We may use your information to understand our visitors and customers and to tailor or optimize our Services. For example, we may analyze statistics and trends to make our Services better and to develop the Sites or new services or features. 
• To protect the security and integrity of our business, comply with legal requirements and obligations, or as otherwise permitted by law. We may use information to protect StudyEdge our users, and our Services. We may also use information in order to comply with laws, regulations, court orders, or other legal obligations or to assist in an investigation, protect and defend our rights and property, or the rights or safety of third parties, enforce our Terms and Conditions, this Privacy Notice, or agreements with third parties, detect and prevent fraud or for crime-prevention purposes, or for any other reason permitted by law. We may take part in or be involved with a corporate business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, joint venture, or financing or sale of company assets and may use information in connection with or as an asset in such a corporate business transaction. Personal information may also be used in the event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership. 
• For any other purposes with your consent, at your direction, or where notice is provided. We may use your personal information for any other purposes with your consent, at your direction, or where notice is otherwise provided. 

Our Disclosure of Personal Information

Study Edge may disclose your personal information when you post content that is visible to others on the Services, when you consent or instruct us to share your information with third parties, or when we have a legitimate business or legal need to share your information.  

We may also share information for the following business purposes:  

• Service providers. Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, as needed to carry out their work for us, which may include providing mailing services, payment or accounting services, web hosting, or analytic services.  
• Third parties in connection with a business transaction. Other parties in connection with a company transaction, such as a merger, sale of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party, or in the event of a bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings.  
• Law enforcement, regulators, and other parties for legal reasons. Third parties as required by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary: (a) to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement; (b) to enforce our Terms and Conditions or to protect the security or integrity of our Services; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Study Edge our users, visitors, or others.  
• Financial Institutions. We may share this information with the financial institution that issued the credit card with which an order was placed or with law enforcement authorities if we determine, or are notified, that the use of the credit card was fraudulent.  

Control Over Your Information

• Control email communications: You can opt-out of receiving promotional or marketing emails from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email. Unfortunately, you cannot unsubscribe from Services-related messaging. 

• Communications:  After receiving your explicit consent, we may use personal information we collect to communicate with individuals, including to market to you or offer you information and updates on products or services we think you may be interested in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails, calls or text messages at any time by replying STOP or clicking the unsubscribe link in one of our messages. Send “forget me” requests to [email protected] for prompt attention and processing.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: Cookie consent is managed by the individual directly on the website and marketing service provider settings. The individual has control over cookie preferences, information collected, and permissions. Individuals also have the ability to change their browser settings to (for example): (i) notify them when they receive a cookie, so the individual can choose whether or not to accept it; (ii) disable existing cookies; or (iii) automatically reject cookies (or certain types of cookies, such as cookies set by third parties).  Cookie types include

• Essential cookies: those essential for navigating and enabling certain services.
• Non-essential cookies: used to better understand how customers use our products and services. All data is de-identified and aggregated to provide usage insights.
• Performance: used to better understand how to improve our services.
• Selections: used to recognize your device for a better user experience.
• Personalization: used to personalize your experience with our services.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA)

Scope. This section applies only to California residents. It describes how we collect, use, and share Personal Information of California residents as a “business” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and their rights with respect to that Personal Information. For purposes of this section, “Personal Information” has the meaning given in the CCPA. However, this section does not apply to:

• Information exempted from the scope of the CCPA, including nonpublic personal information;
• Personal Information we collect from individuals acting in their capacities as representatives of organizations solely in the context of conducting due diligence regarding, or providing or receiving a product or service to or from, such organizations; and
• Personal Information we collect, use, and share on behalf of our customers as a “service provider” under the CCPA for purposes of providing our services to them.
• Ali does not sell (as such term is defined in the CCPA) the Personal Information we collect (and will not sell it without providing a right to opt out). 

Your California privacy rights. You have the following rights under the CCPA:

• Information.To request the following information about how we have collected and used your Personal Information during the past 12 months:
  • The categories of Personal Information that we have collected.
  • The categories of sources from which we collected Personal Information.
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting Personal Information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share Personal Information.
  • Whether we have disclosed your Personal Information for a business purpose, and if so, the categories of Personal Information disclosed to each category of third-party recipient.
• Access. To request a copy of the Personal Information that we have collected about you during the past 12 months.
• Deletion. To request that we delete the Personal Information that we have collected from you.
• Nondiscrimination. To exercise the rights described above free from discrimination as provided in the CCPA.

Commitment to Data Security:

Study Edge uses industry best practices and security measures to protect data, both during transmission (in-transit) and storage (at-rest) on our servers. These include: 

• Encryption: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology is used to encrypt data during transmission between your browser and servers. Data at rest uses AES-256 encryption.
• Secure Payment Processing: Industry-leading, PCI DSS compliant payment gateways are used to process credit card transactions securely. Credit card details are never stored directly on our servers. 
• System Monitoring and Updates: Systems are regularly monitored for suspicious activity, and security patches and updates are implemented promptly to protect against known vulnerabilities. 
• Access Controls: Access to personal information is strictly limited to authorized employees who need it to fulfill orders and provide customer support. Employees receive regular security training and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
• Data Backups: Regular backups of the website and customer data are maintained to minimize the risk of data loss in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Data backups used AES-256 encryption.

Your role in protecting your data 

• Use Strong Passwords: Create unique and complex passwords for your account that include a lower-case letter, an upper-case letter, a number and a special character or space. Passwords must contain at least 16 characters.  Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or common words. 
• Use Multifactor Authentication (MFA): MFA adds a layer of protection to safeguard your account and data from unauthorized access.
• Do Not Share Your Password: Keep login credentials confidential and avoid sharing them. 
• Log Out After Use: Log out of your account, especially if using a shared computer.
• Be Aware of Phishing: Be cautious of suspicious emails or messages requesting personal or login information. Your password or sensitive financial details will never be requested via email.

Failure to Comply:

For Application activities that request personal information, you agree to provide accurate and current information about yourself. Your registration and/or participation in our application services may be canceled without notice if at any time we discover that you provide false information or violate any term of this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use. Study Edge reserves the right to revoke services without refund and ban users from future use for failure to comply with the above stated terms of use. If we catch you sharing your Study Edge account, you will not be able to use study edge again, or you will have to pay a $500 reinstatement penalty for sharing your account and failing to comply with the above stated terms of use.

Changes to our Privacy Notice

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add or delete portions of this Policy and post the changes to this page including an effective date. Your continued use of this site or Study Edge website, application or service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to abide by these or future terms, please do not use the Study Edge service.
